Rita Ndonye - President 2020-2021

Rita Ndonye

As a professional leader, Rita is at the helm of IOSHEM Africa Ltd, a leading safety, health and management consultancy in Kenya.

As an Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) practitioner, she has remarkable experience in creating sustainable OSHE and quality management systems, business development programs and training curriculum for the private and public sector. She sits on various boards and has numerous national and global honours for her exemplary work.

She is also on an ambitious mission to help women and the youth build and grow profitable businesses. As board member of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association (FEWA), she has done extensive work in organizing projects to impact women entrepreneurs.

In the community, Rita leverages her experience and expansive network to create awareness on a number of issues such as fundraising to assist fistula in women, workshops to sensitise kids on environmental matters and championing for better workplace conditions.

As a Rotarian, she has exhibited this same energy, intellect and passion in various roles and projects that she has led and continues to lead on. She is a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF)

She’s a devoted wife to Derek Ndonye and mother of 3 children – Zane, Zoie and Zara.

In her ZEN moments, she enjoys creating gourmet recipes from scratch, dancing, hiking, swimming and traveling.

PP Dan Munyori - President Elect 2021/22

PP Dan Munyori

PP Dan carries substantial experience as a dynamic project management consultant and building contractor. Previously with Barclays Bank (now ABSA), he runs Tusiah Renovators Limited.

At Rotary, his enthusiasm motivates members and the teams that he closely works with. Since starting out at RC Diani in 1999, his profile has grown exponentially. At Diani he served diversely in Administration (Secretary), Community Services, Rotary Foundation, Vocation and Projects. He was also centennial president from 2004 to 2005 at RC Diani, Mombasa.

In 2018, he joined RC Karengata where he has served as the Rotary Foundation Director and is now the President Elect for 2021-2022. Notably, at the district level he is serving as the DGSR to RC-Enkare Narok. At Rotary International he is a sustainable member and a Paul Harris Fellow.

He’s a devoted husband to Rose (a friend of Rotary) and father to Melanie, a legal practitioner.

In his free time, he’s a fitness enthusiast.

Rtn. Jane Chelangat – Club Treasurer

Jane is a finance and logistics whizz.

At Rotary, she has consistently demonstrated her adeptness at managing the club’s finance docket earning her members’ confidence and trust.

Rotary for her is a way of life and the culture reinforces her singular pursuit of its ideals.

She’s driven to build strong and positive communities and use her vast experience to serve those in need.

In her free time, Jane enjoys cooking, reading and road trips!

Rtn. Clemency Okena Club Secretary

Clemency Okena

Clemency is an experienced development professional serving as an HR Administrator.

At Rotary, she plays a very significant role as Club Secretary. Her energy, vibrancy and consistency ensures club members are always in the loop of things.

This striving for excellence and dedication will see her serve in the same docket for another year.

To Clemency, Rotary is a lifelong vocation. A deliberate commitment to the community and most especially those in need.

She’s a devoted mother.

When not too busy, she enjoys socializing, cooking and traveling.

Assistant Governor (AG) PP Jane Katuga – Club Trainer

Ag Jane Katunga

Jane is an exceptional life and wellness coach who runs a practice that offers corporate training and coaching programs.

Under her trademark ‘Jane’s Life Class’, she delivers numerous life-altering coaching sessions for an extensive client list that includes individuals, churches, learning institutions and chamas.

She’s driven by the strong desire to challenge people to take responsibility for their actions.

At Rotary, her passion has seen her talk to TONS of people over the years. This COVID-19 season alone, she has already spoken to over 2200 people!

Beyond this, service to Rotary comes naturally to her because she dons many hats –as the IPP for RC-Karengata and AG of RCs Ongata Rongai, Ongata Rongai East, Milimani and Lavington Jioni.

She’s a proud mother of two daughters and a doting grandma.

Unbelievably, when she’s not at work or running a Rotary project, she still has energy for her favorite pastime as a budding writer!

PP Sammy Ayany – Sergeant At Arms

PP Sammy Ayany

Sammy is a sales and marketing professional with years of significant experience. He holds A BSc and MBA in Sales and Marketing from Cheyney State University and St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA.

His employment portfolio spanned diverse blue chip companies where he served in dynamic roles. Notably: Coca-Cola Bottling, Coca-Cola Africa, Anspar Beverages and Arcade Taxis. And additionally, as a PRO for the Nairobi Amateur Athletics Association and Kenya Amateur Athletics respectively.

In his community, Sammy is an active church elder and chairman of the men’s ministry at ACK St. Barnabas, Otiende. As well as chairman of Onyonka Estate Residents Association.

He has been in private business since 2004 to date as a leading importer of piggy banks for financial institutions in East and Central Africa.

His motivation for joining Rotary was driven by the need to serve the community together with like-minded individuals. At Rotary he has served and continues to serve in numerous capacities. As a past president and SAA in the past and coming year. He’s often a source of inspiration and knowledge as a guiding light to existing members and newcomers.

Sammy is married with three sons and a granddaughter

In his free time, he enjoys a good fitness regimen, socializing and traveling.

PP Emmanuel Kibe - Director Rotary Foundation

PP Emmanuel Kibe

Kibe is a successful entrepreneur with a 23 years proven track record.

Through his firm, Apple Logistics Ltd, he is adroit at providing novel logistics solutions and strategies. His passion lies in productivity management; inspiring individuals to achieve personal excellence and flow in all areas of their lives.

He is a Bachelor of Science (Statistics) graduate and PDG in Actuarial Science. Kibe’s career experience notably covers the fields of logistics, accounting, finance and craftsmanship.

At Rotary, his dedication is evident in the positions he has held as a past president and director of fundraising (and now the foundation). He derives great joy and satisfaction from employing his knowledge and experience to drive Rotary projects and impact lives.

Kibe is a husband and proud father of three beautiful children.

He enjoys reading widely and creating assorted crafts with his kids.

Rtn. Winrose Mungai - Director Membership Docket

Winrose Mungai

Winrose is a professional safety and quality auditor (passenger and cargo) in the aviation industry. She holds a B. Com. in HR Management plus a couple of other substantial qualifications in management, aviation and safety.

Her extreme attention to detail will be an added asset as she takes on an active role in driving up membership numbers as well as sustaining the existing ones.

Winrose’s interest in Rotary stems from her observation of the impressive philanthropic work of a number of Rotarians locally and abroad. The vibrant Rotarian culture of fellowship, 4-way test, network of robust community leaders, discipline and ethics also appeals to her immensely.

She also admires the concept of Rotaractors and Interactors. Their dedication even whilst engaged in school, jobs and other youthful pursuits is highly commendable.

She is married to Isaac Mungai and both have two adult daughters, Elaine and Elsie.

Winrose is fun loving and enjoys socializing with family and friends. Her interests include travelling, reading, meeting new people and swimming.

Rtn. Emily Mulaya - Director Community Activities

Emily Mulaya

Emily, is a state registered nurse with Nairobi and Mater Hospitals respectively.

Her specialty is geriatrics, home care services and assisted living from the University of Wales in Cardiff.

It’s therefore not surprising that her passion lies with the elderly in society. She spends most of her time offering care and support to them by organizing feeding programs, medication and clothes.

Within Rotary she ensures that these services are expanded to the community and most of her outstanding activities are concentrated in the sprawling Mathare slums. Where she runs a feeding program not only for the elderly but abandoned children and women.

Emily is a mother of two grown up children.

Her favorite things to do are gardening, cooking and reading.

Rtn. Wachera Mburu - Director Fundraising

Wachera Mburu

Wachera is a thriving entrepreneur in the tourism and hospitality sector.

She’s at her best when scheduling and organizing amazing tours for her clients to various destinations not only within the country but globally.

As a Rotarian, she’s passionate about the community, families and serving the less fortunate.

It’s evident from her work within the club as director – family of Rotary that service is a calling for her.

Besides, her community work within Rotary, she plays an active role within her church community as a choir leader.

Wachera is a committed wife and mother.

She’s also a (motor) cycling enthusiast and ardent gardener.

Rtn. Anthony Ondicho - Director Service Projects

Anthony Ondicho

Tony is a highly skilled project manager with specialty in energy, building construction and water projects development.

He’s got 10 years of valuable experience that has seen him work on high level projects for the private and public sector.

Rotary is soon going to be a recipient of this high value that he’ll seek to employ in building a significant portfolio for the club’s engagement with local communities through the key focus areas.

Tony is married and blessed with children.

In his free time Tony is a prolific organic farmer and the proprietor of Peponi Farmers Market.

Rtn. Mary Karuri -Director New Generations

Mary Karuri

Don’t let Mary’s diminutive stature fool you. She is a larger than life psychologist, HR professional and trainer.

Her strength is in aligning culture and strategy in East Africa’s corporate sector.

Her vast experience has exposed her to multiple organisations and people where she espouses good workplace practices, builds strong teams and develops world class enterprises.

At Rotary, she packs a punch by playing an active role in mentoring the youth through Interact and Rotaract clubs.

Mary is a dedicated wife to Karuri Waweru and mother to 3 grown up girls.

When she has a moment, she enjoys reading, keeping fit and traveling.

Rtn. Mariya Murtaza Najmi - Director Family of Rotary

Mariya Najmi

Mariya describes herself as a housewife and proprietor of a thriving online business that specializes in children’s toys, fragrances and personal care products.

Having joined the Club in July 2020, it’s amazing that she’s already actively leading in the Family of Rotary.

She’s married to Rotarian Murtaza Najmi (also in RCNK).

Her motivation for joining Rotary was to build connections with like minded people in business and community service.

To let her hair down, she enjoys movies and cooking.

Njeri Murage

Njeri is a generalist who loves pushing boundaries and tinkering with life.

At present she’s focused on creating sustainable decor crafts via Lucidity Africa Ltd, a new age event planning, design and decor company that she has run with her sister for the past 8 years.

Rotary presents new possibilities and an avenue for her to channel her energy into being an agent for positive change in some of the key areas of (Rotary’s) focus.

A good portion of her free time is spent writing, reading, learning new skills and producing decor crafts and accessories.
